I couldn't finish this book. These almost 30 year old adults behaved like high schoolers. Story wasn't believable. At this age Mags should have said from day one what her problem was with Simon when he showed up.
This was an engaging story, and different in that I really didn't like or understand the main characters for much of the story. I do wish parts of the story would have been expanded a bit...for example, we learn very little about Simon and why he is the way he is and what exactly changed for him. Also, how did Simon and Tom get to be such good friends? There were some loose ends for me. Overall, however, well done and I'm ready to read the second book in the series.
I enjoyed all the characters in this book, as well as the plot. Interesting, plus great pacing. However, I think the author stretched the misunderstanding/miscommunication between Maggie and Simon a bit much. That said, the novel is generally a well-written, engaging, clean romance.
Simon & Maggie met in a photography class in school. Now, grown & away from each other they're competing as wedding photographers. Maggie has her business set up in small town Hastings. When she learns that Simon is coming back to town to help his father reopen a portrait studio, she fears her business will be jeopardized. Though Simon has offered working side-by-side with her at weddings, Maggie knows she needs to conserve her business with her clients. But, something Maggie didn't expect was Simon breaking down the walls she built up around herself after a heartbreak she's never quite gotten over.

Wow! What a fun book. Holds your attention from page one.
Unique western. I appreciate historical novels but never read one like this. It was hard but positive. The characters are each working thru problems and finding answers in a personal relationship with God. Well, some are still on the trail but no easy answers here.
This story was beautifully written. I was so surprised as I was reading it by the story line and how it turns out. There are unexpected twists and turns and sex was not pivotal to the story which always makes it a welcome event as it is in life. Well written with memorable characters.
I felt like the plot was stuck on repeat. Like the boy, kiss the boy, don't trust the boy, repeat. The third time through the cycle I almost abandoned the book altogether. The "Christian" parts felt like an afterthought and didn't add anything to the story.
